Sandy's Position on the Needle Exchange Program
While it’s important to stop the spread of infectious disease, we must not put others like school children, seniors, and the broader community at risk.
Sandy has been opposed to Orange County Needle Exchange Program (OCNEP) operations in Costa Mesa since first learning about it in April from a Los Angeles Times article http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-needle-exchange-20180205-story.html
In August, the City Council voted to move forward with a lawsuit against the needle exchange and adopted a needle exchange moratorium. The proposed hypodermic needle “exchange” program has been delayed.
